Summary
The HookRay AI Page Summarizer Chrome extension reads the text of the current page and sends it to HookRay's AI summarization endpoint to produce a summary. No account is required. The submitted page text is not retained after the summary is returned.
Data we process
- Visible text of the active tab when you click Summarize.
- Your chosen format (paragraph, bullet, TL;DR) and output language preference.
- Local extension storage for your daily free-usage counter and saved preferences.
Data we do not collect
- No personal accounts or login data.
- No browsing history beyond the pages you explicitly summarize.
- No analytics, ad tracking, or fingerprinting.
- No long-term storage of submitted page text on HookRay servers.
Permissions
- activeTab: used to read the visible text of the current page when you click Summarize.
- storage: used to track your daily free-usage counter and save your format/language preferences.
- host_permissions (
page-summarizer-api.vercel.app): used to call the AI summarization endpoint operated by HookRay.
Third parties
The extension does not share data with advertising networks, analytics vendors, or unrelated third-party services. The AI summarization endpoint is operated by HookRay and processes the submitted page text only to generate the response.
